Working in partnership with Essex Highways, Essex County Council and Jackson Engineering.

A £3.25 million scheme to enhance highways roundabouts aims to support economic growth, improve route safety, reduce motorists' journey times, and upgrade passenger transport facilities.
RYR joined the team during the construction phase to coordinate with stakeholders, the community, and businesses, serving as the ambassador for the Considerate Constructors Scheme. (Yazmin and Monica are our Considerate Constructor Scheme Representatives)
Improvements completed include:
Frating Roundabout - Introducing a left-turn slip from A133 (A120 Spur) to A133 (east) and modifying roundabout and approaches to increase capacity.
Weeley Roundabout - Widening northbound approach, road marking and signage improvements
Safety Improvements - Local carriageway widening and junction improvements on A133 Colchester Road between Frating Roundabout and Weeley Roundabout to reduce congestion and address existing road safety issues.
Construction started at the end of November 2019. Both Weeley Roundabout and Frating Roundabout were worked on simultaneously; however, Weeley Roundabout was completed first in early April 2020. Work on Frating Roundabout continued until Jacksons Civil Engineering dismantled the site compound in July 2020, marking the successful completion of the construction. Jackson Civil Engineering revisited the site in the autumn to complete the tree planting and landscaping works.
