Statement modern slavery

Our business, RYR Community Liaison Consultants Ltd (RYR Ltd) is committed to combatting slavery and human trafficking in its business and supply chains, and we make this statement to assist with compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

This statement relates to the financial year ending 30/08/2024.

Our commitment

As our business has a turnover of less than £36 million, we do not have a legal obligation to produce a modern slavery statement. However:

a. We agree that exploitation within all supply chains ending in the UK is a blight on our society, and we are committed to playing our part in eliminating exploitation;

b. We understand that customers with obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 cannot comply with those duties without our cooperation.

To that end, we confirm that we have examined our own business and, to the extent that it is reasonably practicable, businesses within our supply chain and we confirm the following:

a. We confirm that within our own business, no relevant offence relating to slavery or human tracking has been committed.

b. We have made enquiries of businesses that supply directly to us and we are confident that no relevant offence is committed in that business.

c. Insofar as it was reasonably practicable, we have examined our supply chains and confirm that we found no evidence of slavery or human trafficking.

Ethical supply chain

Our business provides Stakeholder Engagement Sevices to help clients establish and maintain positive, constructive relationships with their stakeholders. Stakeholders can include anyone affected by or interested in the organisation’s operations, such as customers, employees, investors, local communities, regulators, suppliers, and partners. The company has 4 employees at one location in the United Kingdom (UK). There are two primary business units - Stakeholder Engagement Services and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Consulting. Each unit is focused on specialised services but often collaborates on projects. The company is led by one director who oversees 4 employees who handle client projects, research, and support services. This structure ensures clear communication and focused oversight in each functional area.

Our supply chain approach emphasises values-driven service procurement:

Supplier Profile: We work exclusively with reputable national and local suppliers within the United Kingdom who support service delivery needs rather than providing physical supplies.

Ethical and Sustainable Standards: Our suppliers prioritise a safe, fair, and equitable supply chain, with a commitment to sustainable practices.

Relationship Focus: We build long-term partnerships with suppliers who share our values, ensuring alignment in ethical practices and continuous improvement in worker conditions.

UN sustainable development goals (SDGs)

Our commitment to aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) reinforces our dedication to responsible business practices. Core SDG focus:

SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth): With a strong focus on Target 8.7, our business takes active measures to eliminate forced labor, modern slavery, human trafficking, and child labor from the supply chain. This commitment extends to our suppliers and partners, promoting ethical standards across the board.

SDG 5 (Gender Equality): We acknowledge the link between gender equality and combating modern slavery, ensuring that practices within our business and supply chain promote equal opportunities and protect vulnerable populations.

We aim to integrate the SDGs into our core business strategy, fostering responsible practices, innovation, and investment that contribute to sustainable and ethical growth. By actively engaging suppliers that uphold these values, our business not only contributes to these goals but also inspires a broader commitment within the supply chain.

This approach positions our business as a proactive leader in sustainability and ethical practices, making a tangible contribution to achieving the SDGs and highlights our dedication to partnering with suppliers that enhance operational integrity and social responsibility within the UK.

We understand that certain industry sectors and geographical regions entail greater risk of exploitation than others. We do not believe that our supply chain is in one of those sectors. Where it is reasonably practicable, we ensure that businesses in our supply chain have made a similar statement relating to slavery and human trafficking.

The person in our business responsible for assessing matters relating to slavery and human trafficking is: Monica Stonham. We also encourage all employees to report on any matters relating to slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains of which they become aware.

working together, we can make a difference
